Responsibilities
- Design, build, and own polished, accessible, performant, production-ready user-facing features with React and TypeScript.
- Set frontend technical direction and quality standards while mentoring engineers and contributing to code reviews.
- Use AI and agentic development tools such as Claude and establish best practices for AI-assisted development.
- Build and extend Go backend services and APIs supporting frontend features when needed.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to architect and deliver new product experiences.
- Contribute to product and technical roadmaps and the broader direction of the engineering team.
- Create and maintain user-facing technical documentation that supports product understanding and adoption.
- Help shape engineering culture and maintain high standards across the organization.
Requirements
- 7+ years of proven software engineering experience with deep frontend specialization.
- Expert-level React and TypeScript skills with strong attention to UX, performance, and accessibility.
- Demonstrated fluency with AI and agentic coding tools, such as Claude, and experience using them to improve delivery efficiency.
- Experience setting technical standards, mentoring engineers, and driving key technical decisions.
- Track record of shipping high-quality, production-grade frontend systems at scale.
- Working proficiency in Go or ability to become productive in Go quickly for backend services.
- Ability to work autonomously amid ambiguity and prioritize against business needs.
- Customer-centric approach and strong empathy for users.
- Proficient English communication skills, from casual conversations through formal reports.
- Relevant fintech, fraud, compliance, risk, or regulated-systems experience is preferred.
- Exposure to data tooling or pipelines is preferred but not required.
- Must reside in Ontario, Canada, and be legally authorized to work in Canada.
