Senior Field Engineer (Pre-Sales/Forward Deployed)
Cognite - AI for IndustryResponsibilities
- Partner with Account Executives as the technical lead for complex strategic customer engagements.
- Design and implement industrial agents using Cognite Atlas AI and the Industrial Knowledge Graph.
- Build end-to-end prototypes integrating GenAI components, Cognite Data Fusion data models, and legacy customer systems.
- Lead use-case workshops, technical briefings, customer demos, and reference-architecture development.
- Translate field deployment learnings and customer friction into product requirements and scalable best practices.
- Travel up to 50% to support customers on site.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience in forward-deployed engineering or pre-sales engineering, ideally in enterprise SaaS, cloud platforms, or industrial software.
- Strong engineering background and proficiency in Python.
- Deep understanding of GenAI concepts including embeddings, retrieval-augmented generation, and prompt chaining.
- Experience building with LLMs such as Gemini, Claude, or GPT-4 and understanding of agentic AI.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, communication, architecture, and customer-facing presentation skills.
- Education or experience in industrial fields such as petroleum, chemical, mechanical, or control systems engineering is preferred.
- Previous customer-facing or sales experience and familiarity with industrial data challenges are preferred.
