Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, validation, deployment, and production stabilization of integrations between SmarterDx and hospital EHRs.
- Serve as the technical expert in customer engagements and guide architecture discussions with executive, IT, clinical, and operational stakeholders.
- Develop integration specifications, mappings, configurations, testing strategies, go-live plans, operational runbooks, and support processes.
- Lead data validation, reconciliation, monitoring, alerting, traceability, replay strategies, incident response, root cause analysis, and remediation.
- Automate implementation and operational workflows through test harnesses, validation tooling, automated checks, and deployment patterns.
- Monitor interoperability standards and advise product and platform engineering on schemas, data contracts, mapping approaches, and integration tooling.
- Participate in an after-hours Tier 3 rotation for high-priority production support.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience building, deploying, and supporting hospital-based HL7v2 interfaces at scale.
- Expertise in EHR-specific message structures, triggers, acknowledgements, error handling, downstream impacts, and interface engine architecture and operations.
- Experience with scalable database extraction architecture, performance tuning, indexing, and downstream data validation.
- Significant experience enabling FHIR R4 APIs and resources and SMART on FHIR workflows.
- Hands-on experience with JavaScript or Python for message transformation or workflow automation.
- SQL fluency for validation, reconciliation, and troubleshooting across complex datasets.
- Familiarity with TLS, HTTPS, VPN configuration, and data-transfer security practices.
- Strong executive communication, technical documentation, planning, stakeholder leadership, and client-facing communication skills.
- Preferred experience with Epic integrations and Bridges, Interconnect, Reporting Workbench, Clarity, Chronicles, Caboodle, or Cogito.
- Preferred advanced Rhapsody architecture and operations experience.
- Preferred experience with flat-file and X12 transfers via SFTP.
- Clinical informatics experience or health IT credentials such as HL7, FHIR, Mirth Connect, Cloverleaf, or EHR certifications are preferred.
- Participation in HL7 or FHIR working groups or contributions to open-source healthcare integration tools is preferred.
