Responsibilities

  • Design and implement distributed database systems and integrations for RDS for Oracle in AWS environments.
  • Optimize database performance, high availability, scalability, storage architecture, and kernel-level behavior.
  • Build customer-facing APIs, operational tooling, monitoring and troubleshooting tools, and automation for database management.
  • Collaborate with engineers, stakeholders, account managers, solution architects, and customers to define and deliver technical solutions.
  • Participate in the software development lifecycle, design reviews, prototyping, deployment, documentation, and operational improvements.
  • Ensure database solutions meet security and compliance requirements including FedRAMP, GDPR, and HIPAA.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of non-internship professional software development experience.
  • At least 2 years of non-internship experience designing or architecting new and existing systems, including design patterns, reliability, and scaling.
  • Experience programming in at least one software programming language.
  • Preferred: at least 3 years of full software development lifecycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
  • Preferred: bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.

  • The position is based in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, with a base salary of 114,800.00–191,800.00 CAD annually; total compensation may also include sign-on payments and RSUs.
