Responsibilities
- Design, develop, troubleshoot, debug, and test software applications or operating systems.
- Build enhancements within existing software architectures and suggest improvements to architecture.
- Apply knowledge of software architecture and work independently on varied and complex tasks.
- Use object-oriented programming, RESTful APIs, containerized applications, Linux, databases, multithreading, concurrency, data structures, algorithms, and distributed systems.
- May lead projects or supervise lower-level personnel.
Requirements
- A master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, with one year of experience in the offered job or a related Software Developer occupation, is accepted.
- A BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to the functional area is listed in the qualifications.
- The broader qualifications state four years of software engineering or related experience.
- Experience with one or more of Java, Go, C, C++, Python, or PHP.
- Knowledge of RESTful APIs and web services, containerized applications and orchestration, Linux and scripting, MySQL or Oracle Database, operating systems, multithreading, concurrency, data structures and algorithms, and distributed systems.
- Ability to exercise independent judgment and demonstrated competence in the relevant area.
