Base Salary
$190k - $267k/yr
Responsibilities
- Partner with Product Management, Product Design, Data Science, and client engineers to translate user and business needs into reliable, low-latency solutions.
- Own the full software lifecycle for major product initiatives, including technical designs, API contracts, development, testing, rollout, and observability.
- Design, build, and evaluate A/B experiments using behavioral, conversion, and retention metrics.
- Build and maintain scalable APIs and distributed backend services optimized for web and mobile clients.
- Improve engineering practices and developer workflows, mentor teammates, and use modern AI-assisted tools to ship efficiently.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of hands-on backend development experience building and operating large-scale distributed serving systems in high-concurrency environments.
- Proficiency in Go or Python, or comparable experience with Java, Kotlin, Rust, or C++.
- Expertise designing and maintaining scalable APIs with GraphQL, REST, or gRPC.
- Experience with high-throughput caching layers and distributed datastores such as Redis, Cassandra, or PostgreSQL.
- Ability to collaborate with product, design, data, and client engineering teams and make data-informed product decisions.
- Strong communication skills, self-direction, comfort with ambiguity, and experience driving cross-functional alignment in remote or hybrid environments.
- Experience or interest in AI-assisted engineering tools is preferred.
