Responsibilities
- Design and develop high-performance C++ cores and real-time software systems with predictable latency and reliability.
- Develop systems involving multithreading, synchronization, asynchronous I/O, memory management, and latency optimization.
- Profile and optimize threading behavior, lock contention, memory allocation, scalability, and critical-path performance.
- Support managed runtime services including .NET and Rust with minimal latency overhead.
- Participate in architecture reviews, system design, technical documentation, roadmaps, refactoring, and legacy modernization.
- Maintain cross-platform compatibility across Linux and Windows and modernize build and dependency-management systems.
- Apply secure software supply chain practices and contribute to secure, scalable system design.
- Maintain code quality through reviews, unit testing, integration testing, and established software engineering practices.
- Collaborate with engineering, product, business, and power-grid industry stakeholders to translate requirements into technical designs.
- Develop software supporting power-grid management, monitoring, and critical infrastructure.
Requirements
- University degree in computer science, engineering, or a related technical field.
- At least 8 years of experience in senior technical roles.
- Advanced proficiency in modern C++ with deep knowledge of RAII, smart pointers, STL, concurrency, and memory management.
- Strong experience with multithreading, synchronization primitives, asynchronous I/O, real-time system design, performance profiling, and low-latency systems.
- Proficiency with CMake, Visual Studio, Linux, Windows, and cross-platform development.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and microservices architecture patterns.
- Understanding of software architecture, secure software design, scalability, and non-functional requirements.
- Knowledge of unit and integration testing techniques and testing frameworks.
- Preferred knowledge of Rust development.
- Preferred experience with power-grid management and monitoring, power-grid operations, applicable standards, and industrial automation systems such as SCADA, IED, and RTU.
- Preferred experience with IEC-60870-5-104, DNP3, OPC UA, and IEEE C37.118.
- Preferred experience working directly with power-grid industry clients and translating customer requirements into technical designs.
- Excellent English communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively in a cross-disciplinary team.
