Responsibilities
- Design, architect, and develop backend software for high-volume payment processing.
- Build scalable, secure, and reliable Java and Spring services with appropriate unit-test coverage.
- Lead distributed-systems design, microservices architecture, and event-driven software initiatives.
- Integrate payment gateways, banks, card networks, and alternative payment methods.
- Work on payment flows, settlement, reconciliation, and fraud-detection mechanisms.
- Design secure APIs and implement OAuth2, JWT, and SSO mechanisms.
- Develop cloud solutions using AWS services including IAM, EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, DynamoDB, and API Gateway.
- Optimize transaction management, database performance, and high-availability strategies.
- Collaborate with DevOps teams on cloud solutions, CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, scalability, and production reliability.
- Provide technical leadership, mentor junior developers, document designs and requirements, and drive continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Engineering or a related field.
- 7 years of experience in backend software development.
- Deep knowledge of Java 11 or later and strong experience with Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, and JPA ORM.
- Strong understanding of distributed systems, microservices architecture, event-driven design patterns, and complex system architecture.
- Experience with payment flows, settlement, reconciliation, fraud detection, and integrations with payment systems or financial institutions.
- Expertise designing secure APIs and knowledge of OAuth2 Security, JWT, and SSO mechanisms.
- Strong AWS experience with IAM, EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, DynamoDB, and API Gateway.
- Experience with transaction management, database tuning, PostgreSQL, MySQL, or NoSQL stores, and high-availability strategies.
- Advanced proficiency in Git and experience producing high-quality, optimized code with unit-test coverage.
- Proven experience in the FinTech or payments industry and high-volume financial transaction processing environments.
- Advanced English and Spanish are mandatory; the candidate must be based in Peru.
- Preferred qualifications include team leadership, payment-system architecture, production systems, monitoring strategies, and payment gateway, bank, card network, or alternative payment integrations.
