Responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable, resilient, secure cloud-native applications on AWS for insurance business functions.
- Build responsive React and TypeScript user interfaces and robust Node.js and Java Spring Boot backend services.
- Optimize application performance, service latency, throughput, frontend rendering, and database queries.
- Apply secure coding practices, protect sensitive data, manage secrets through AWS services, and follow compliance guidelines.
- Collaborate with product managers, business analysts, quality engineers, and insurance stakeholders to translate requirements into technical designs.
- Guide AWS infrastructure selection and configuration while balancing cost, reliability, and performance.
- Implement unit, integration, and end-to-end testing strategies and contribute to CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflows.
- Document solution designs, technical decisions, and operational runbooks.
- Mentor peers and provide code review support across React, TypeScript, Node.js, Java, Spring Boot, and AWS.
Requirements
- Six to ten years of professional software engineering experience focused on building and scaling distributed web applications.
- Advanced proficiency in React and TypeScript, including state management, reusable components, and backend API integration.
- Strong hands-on experience with Node.js and Java Spring Boot for RESTful services, database integration, and domain logic.
- Proven capability with AWS core services for compute, storage, networking, monitoring, and security, plus practical infrastructure-as-code exposure and cloud cost awareness.
- Experience or understanding of auto claims and property and casualty insurance processes is desirable.
- Clear communication and collaboration skills for hybrid work with distributed teams.
- AWS Certified Developer Associate or AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate certification is preferred.
