Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain cloud-native user-plane services for 5G Core networks.
  • Build and optimize high-performance networking software on AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Develop packet-processing functions using DPDK.
  • Deliver scalable microservices using Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Own services through development, testing, deployment, monitoring, and operational support.
  • Collaborate with architects, developers, and cross-functional teams to improve performance, resiliency, and scalability.
  • Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and automation.
  • Troubleshoot complex networking and cloud infrastructure issues in production.
  • Improve software quality, test coverage, and operational excellence.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong software development experience with C, C++, Go, or similar systems programming languages.
  • Strong Linux development and troubleshooting skills.
  • Understanding of TCP/IP networking, routing, and network protocols.
  • Experience with high-performance packet processing technologies such as DPDK.
  • Experience building cloud-native applications and microservices.
  • Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and containerized environments.
  • Experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Familiarity with GitLab CI, Jenkins, Cloud Build, or similar CI/CD tools.
  • Experience with REST and/or gRPC APIs.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and collaboration skills.
  • Preferred experience includes cloud-based databases, distributed systems, observability and monitoring tools, telecommunications, 5G Core, cloud-native networking, large-scale production environments, or carrier-grade systems.

Benefits

  • Salary range is CAD 101,500 to CAD 133,350 for Ottawa.
  • Three medical and dental plan options are available, with core coverage fully paid by Ericsson.
  • The retirement program includes a 2% automatic pension contribution and an RRSP match of up to 4%, for a potential 6% total company contribution.
  • Benefits include basic life insurance, accidental death and dismemberment coverage, short-term disability coverage, and optional participation in the Stock Purchase Plan.
  • Employees receive at least 18 vacation days, 3 personal days, 10 holidays, 1 volunteer day, and sick days, prorated based on start date.
  • The company provides up to 10 weeks of paid maternity leave and 6 weeks of paid parental or adoption leave at 100% of pay.
