Responsibilities
- Design and implement secure, multi-tenant AWS IoT Core solutions for device onboarding, identity, connectivity, fleet management, and tenant isolation.
- Develop AWS IoT Greengrass v2 components, recipes, and deployments for embedded Linux devices, including recovery and state management.
- Build generative AI applications, RAG solutions, agents, tool integrations, prompts, structured extraction workflows, and automated evaluations using Amazon Bedrock and AWS services.
- Develop Python services and APIs integrating AI capabilities with customer applications, databases, and enterprise data sources.
- Implement AI safeguards using Bedrock Guardrails, IAM, encryption, access controls, output validation, and prompt-injection protections.
- Build on-device agents in Python and C/C++, create Yocto board images, integrate systemd services, and cross-compile software for embedded targets.
- Implement secure OTA pipelines for applications, models, and firmware with signing, staged rollout, health checks, recovery, rollback, and anti-rollback controls.
- Manage AWS IoT thing groups and IoT Jobs, build MQTT telemetry pipelines and IoT rules, and route data to streaming services and Amazon S3.
- Test IoT systems at fleet scale using containerized simulators and real development boards, diagnosing connectivity, update, recovery, security, and performance issues.
- Apply device security practices including secure boot, debug-port lockdown, least-privilege policies, and hardware-backed keys.
Requirements
- BS or MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field is preferred; equivalent experience is considered.
- 5+ years of experience in IoT, embedded software, cloud engineering, or related roles with hands-on responsibility for production systems.
- Demonstrated delivery of AWS-connected device solutions spanning embedded Linux development, secure device lifecycle management, cloud integration, and production operations.
- Strong Python and software engineering skills, including API development, automated testing, debugging, code review, and maintainable application design.
- Experience with AWS IoT Device Management and AWS IoT Device Defender, including fleet indexing, secure tunneling, and audit checks.
- Experience developing tenant-aware AWS backend workflows using Lambda, Step Functions, EventBridge, DynamoDB partition design, and tenant-scoped IAM and IoT policies.
- Practical experience with RAG, embeddings, vector stores, retrieval quality, enterprise-data grounding, and Amazon Bedrock Knowledge Bases.
- Experience building agent workflows and tool calling with schema validation, controlled execution, error handling, and external-system integration.
- Additional valued experience includes Hailo processors and software, Microchip PolarFire SoC, TPMs and secure elements, EU Cyber Resilience Act requirements, other IoT platforms, and FPGA fundamentals.
Benefits
- Travel is typically 5% or less per year.
