Responsibilities
- Build backend services, APIs, and workflows for the AI Neobank app.
- Support products across insurance, payments, wallets, savings, investing, travel, and financial services.
- Design systems for user accounts, transactions, partner integrations, reconciliation, notifications, and operations.
- Work with product and mobile teams to deliver customer-facing journeys.
- Integrate with banks, payment gateways, insurers, data providers, and other partners.
- Improve system reliability, observability, security, and performance.
- Build practical, auditable systems suitable for regulated financial products.
- Take ownership of production issues and long-term reliability.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of backend engineering experience.
- Strong fundamentals in APIs, databases, system design, and production debugging.
- Experience building scalable services and integrating third-party systems.
- Understanding of security, reliability, data quality, and operational edge cases.
- Ability to make practical trade-offs between speed, quality, and risk.
- Comfort working with product, mobile, operations, and business teams.
- Experience in fintech, payments, insurance, lending, banking, or regulated products is a strong advantage.
- Strong English communication skills.
- Candidates must already be based in Hong Kong.
