Base Salary
$150k - $250k/yr
Responsibilities
- Audit the current build and test pipeline for reproducibility and speed.
- Select and migrate to a new build system without disrupting shipping.
- Implement remote execution and caching to improve CI and local build times.
- Pin toolchains and seal dependencies to enhance build hermeticity.
- Develop a long-term roadmap for build, test, and CI as the team grows.
- Collaborate with application and infrastructure engineers throughout the migration.
Requirements
- Senior or staff-level experience with Bazel, Buck2, Pants, or similar build systems.
- Experience with remote execution and caching in production environments.
- Comfortable working across multiple programming languages, including TypeScript and Rust.
- Strong opinions on build determinism and reproducibility.
- CI operations experience, including managing queue health and build time budgets.
- Ability to scope and define your own work without a detailed spec.
