Base Salary
$130k - $150k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead the migration from self-managed SQL Server on EC2 to AWS RDS.
- Drive database cost optimization through various strategies.
- Upskill and mentor the existing Hospice SQL DBA team on AWS operations.
- Establish cloud-native database monitoring and performance baselines.
- Design and implement automated backup and disaster recovery processes.
- Perform query optimization and capacity planning.
- Collaborate with the DevOps team on infrastructure automation.
- Ensure HITRUST E1 compliance for all database systems.
- Support the Hospice application team with database-related needs.
- Evaluate future database modernization opportunities.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in database administration.
- Deep expertise with Microsoft SQL Server (2016+) performance tuning.
- Experience with AWS RDS setup, migration, and monitoring.
- Strong understanding of backup/restore strategies and recovery.
- Experience with monitoring tools like Datadog and CloudWatch.
- Proficiency in T-SQL, stored procedures, and query optimization.
- Experience working in regulated environments like HIPAA.
