Base Salary
$120k - $261k/yr
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with stakeholders to determine requirements for networking scenarios.
- Identify dependencies and develop design documents for products, applications, services, and platforms.
- Create, implement, optimize, debug, refactor, and reuse code to improve performance, maintainability, effectiveness, and ROI.
- Partner with stakeholders to drive project plans, release plans, and work items.
- Act as a Designated Responsible Individual, guide other engineers, and participate in on-call operations.
- Monitor systems for degradation, downtime, or interruptions and initiate restoration actions for simple and complex problems.
- Improve product availability, reliability, efficiency, observability, and performance at scale.
Requirements
- Doctorate degree in Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; or a master’s degree with 3+ years of technical experience in network design, development, and automation; or a bachelor’s degree with 4+ years of that experience; or equivalent experience.
- 8+ years of experience in IP networking and/or distributed systems.
- 4+ years of experience with the Linux operating system.
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements, including the Microsoft Cloud Background Check.
- Preferred: experience delivering network designs into production and maintaining live-site accountability for a network.
- Preferred: 5+ years of experience with SDN technologies such as Overlay Switching and Routing, EVPN, VXLAN, TCP/IP, and SDN Controllers.
- Preferred: 3+ years of experience with container-based technologies.
- Preferred education and experience include a doctorate with 3+ years, a master’s degree with 6+ years, or a bachelor’s degree with 8+ years of technical experience in network design, development, and automation, or equivalent experience.
