Base Salary

$307k - $427k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Establish the roadmap for workload-optimized GCE instances serving AI/ML clusters and mission-critical applications.
  • Lead the design, development, and optimization of specialized compute instances for storage, networking, memory, and HPC workloads.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and Google hardware architects to optimize instance performance, reliability, and efficiency.
  • Develop subject-matter expertise on enterprise and AI/ML customer requirements for GCE instances.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to technical leads responsible for the specialized GCE instance portfolio.
  • Drive technical innovation for low-latency, high-throughput storage, training-data access, checkpointing, and model-serving workloads.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 15 years of software development experience involving software design, data structures, algorithms, debugging, and analysis on customer-facing products.
  • 10 years of experience with private and public cloud design challenges involving operating systems, virtualization, multi-tenancy, fault isolation, distributed systems, networking, and security.
  • 10 years of experience in cloud compute infrastructure and storage or networking.
  • Experience building software and large-scale distributed systems.
  • Experience partnering cross-functionally, brokering trade-offs, understanding stakeholder needs, and driving consensus.
  • Strong organization, prioritization, written communication, verbal communication, narrative, and storytelling skills.
