Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end architecture and implementation of complex distributed, cloud-native classification services.
- Build agentic AI workflows using LLM reasoning, retrieval-augmented generation, human escalation, confidence signals, and audit trails.
- Develop MCP server capabilities that expose classification APIs to AI agents and partner platforms.
- Build backend services and APIs with Java/Spring Boot and Python/FastAPI, plus frontend components and internal tooling where needed.
- Design asynchronous message-processing and batch pipelines capable of handling classification volumes from dozens to millions of items per customer.
- Deploy and operate services on Kubernetes and AWS EKS, including Helm configurations, resource policies, availability, and latency objectives.
- Implement observability, incident response, root-cause analysis, durable fixes, and post-incident documentation.
- Embed security, secrets management, least-privilege IAM, and responsible AI practices across services.
- Conduct code and design reviews, mentor junior engineers, lead refactoring, and improve engineering standards.
- Drive AI-assisted engineering practices and identify new agentic use cases with engineering and product leadership.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science.
- At least 10 years of professional software engineering experience with senior-level technical ownership and impact.
- Strong hands-on experience designing distributed backend systems, APIs, microservices, asynchronous messaging, and event-driven architectures.
- Proficiency in Java with Spring Boot or Python with FastAPI/asyncio, with the ability to contribute across both ecosystems.
- Experience integrating LLMs or ML models into production systems, including prompt design, output validation, latency management, and model observability.
- Experience deploying and operating containerized services on cloud infrastructure, preferably AWS, using Docker and Kubernetes.
- Strong knowledge of SOLID, clean architecture, domain-driven design, scalability, and resilience principles.
- Experience building automated unit, integration, and end-to-end testing strategies.
- Demonstrated ability to learn unfamiliar languages, frameworks, and tooling as required.
- Required hands-on AI usage that produced measurable improvements in engineering or product outcomes.
- Strong written and spoken English communication skills for collaboration with distributed teams.
- Experience using AI-assisted coding tools such as GitHub Copilot or Cursor and applying LLMs to documentation, specifications, runbooks, and code reviews.
- Ability to design, govern, and secure agentic AI systems, including prompt-injection prevention, output-variability management, drift monitoring, explainability, and human escalation.
Benefits
- Compensation package, paid time off, paid parental leave, and potential bonuses.
- Location-dependent private medical, life, and disability insurance.
