Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end design of complex distributed features and agentic AI workflows, including data flows, API contracts, deployment, and observability.
- Build backend services and APIs using Java with Spring Boot and Python with FastAPI, and design asynchronous processing pipelines using AWS SQS.
- Deploy and operate cloud services on Kubernetes and AWS EKS with observability and security best practices.
- Develop multi-step AI pipelines using retrieval-augmented generation, vector databases, and human-in-the-loop orchestration.
- Build and extend Model Context Protocol servers to expose classification APIs for AI agents and partner platforms.
- Conduct code reviews, mentor junior engineers, and coach the team on AI-assisted development and agentic workflow patterns.
- Use AI-assisted tools such as GitHub Copilot and Cursor to improve engineering speed and code quality.
- Govern production AI by mitigating prompt injection, monitoring model drift, and applying responsible AI practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science.
- At least 10 years of professional software engineering experience with senior-level technical ownership and impact.
- Extensive experience designing and building distributed backend systems, RESTful APIs, microservices, and event-driven architectures.
- Proficiency in Java with Spring Boot or Python with FastAPI and asyncio, with the ability to contribute across both stacks.
- Hands-on experience integrating LLMs or ML models into production systems, including prompt design, output validation, and responsible AI governance.
- Experience deploying and operating cloud infrastructure using AWS, Docker, and Kubernetes.
- Demonstrated hands-on AI usage that has produced measurable engineering or product improvements.
- Strong communication skills and commitment to improving design, code quality, and engineering practices.
- Experience designing classification agents with autonomous planning, retrieval, decision-making, confidence signals, and human escalation.
