Base Salary
$159k - $238k/yr
Responsibilities
- Architect, design, develop, and operate AWS-based services and applications supporting Wizards’ product creation platform.
- Establish and champion engineering standards for application and service design.
- Lead adoption of AI-assisted development tools, review practices, and quality gates.
- Own technical decisions, translate business needs into scalable software, and drive execution with partners.
- Mentor engineers through technical direction, pairing, feedback, and code and design reviews.
- Participate in hiring, onboarding, and building a high-performing engineering culture.
Requirements
- 8+ years of software engineering experience, including 2+ years in a lead, staff, or senior+ capacity.
- Experience building and operating production-grade enterprise software with strong application, distributed-systems, and architecture knowledge.
- Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development workflows and evaluating AI-generated code against production standards.
- Proficiency in C#/.NET, Java, Go, or comparable languages; AWS; Docker; ECS/EKS; event-driven systems; and relational database design.
- Experience with software quality practices, technical leadership, mentoring, and influencing technical excellence across teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent professional experience.
- Preferred experience includes React.js or other frontend frameworks, Kafka, AWS SNS/SQS, Kubernetes, Terraform, and infrastructure-as-code practices.
