Responsibilities
- Design and develop a high-performance data platform capable of handling large volumes of data in real time
- Build product features from research and implementation through maintenance
- Improve the performance and reliability of new and existing features
- Lead initiatives that could have a significant impact on Formal
- Design scalable services as Formal grows and processes more traffic
Requirements
- Software development experience building data-intensive software platforms
- Strong knowledge of Golang and its ecosystem
- Experience with streaming data processing frameworks such as Kafka and Google Pub/Sub
- Experience debugging and optimizing complex production systems
- Experience working in databases, operating systems, networking, or other systems-level environments
- Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker, ECS, or Kubernetes
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code technologies such as Terraform
- Strong problem-solving, production debugging, communication, and teamwork skills
- Experience in a fast-growing startup environment is preferred
- Experience using Temporal and Render is preferred
- Extensive knowledge of datastore protocols such as Postgres, S3, and Kafka is preferred
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Azure or GCP is preferred
