Responsibilities
- Design, build, test, deliver, and maintain resilient distributed software systems at Apple scale.
- Shape platform and product architecture through hands-on software development and operational experience.
- Operate, monitor, and provide on-call support for software and services.
- Participate in technical discussions, write specifications, review code, and produce documentation.
- Drive complex projects from conception through production and collaborate across teams and disciplines.
Requirements
- Hands-on software development experience with Java or Kotlin and Spring.
- Experience building and maintaining complex software systems with a solid understanding of distributed systems fundamentals.
- BS in Computer Science or an equivalent technical field.
- Development and operational experience with REST and/or gRPC services.
- Experience with containerization and orchestration such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience with cloud-native applications such as AWS, with resilience as a core feature.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code.
- Experience with observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, and Datadog.
- Understanding of modern networking and experience using traffic tools for tracing.
- Understanding of security, privacy, and cryptography, including PKI, certificate management, and JWT.
- Hands-on experience with SQL/NoSQL databases such as Aurora, DynamoDB, CockroachDB, and Oracle.
- Strong communication, collaboration, initiative, perseverance, and relationship-building skills.
