Responsibilities
- Contribute to development of the core Omega framework with emphasis on extensibility and maintainability.
- Develop and maintain Omega business applications.
- Design and build agentic tooling and automation for the development community.
- Collaborate with developers, system engineers, business analysts, and product managers on requirements and delivery.
- Provide production support, including occasional on-call responsibilities.
- Apply systems and API design principles while reasoning about compatibility and extensibility.
- Optimize JVM performance through tuning, garbage collection optimization, and profiling.
Requirements
- Deep expertise in Java SE 11 or later.
- Strong experience processing large, high-throughput datasets in Java.
- Experience with event-driven, sequenced-message-stream architectures.
- Fluency with GNU/Linux and at least one scripting language.
- Proficiency with Git, GitHub, Gradle, and GitHub Actions CI/CD.
- Ability to work with framework-level and application-level code.
- Strong communication skills and a self-directed working style.
- Preferred: experience building AI or agentic tooling.
- Preferred: experience with low-latency, deterministic event-processing systems such as market data feed handlers, matching engines, or other sequenced-stream architectures.
- Preferred: working knowledge of equity and fixed income securities.
