Responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end SMB component, including design, implementation, testing, and maintenance.
- Develop and enhance dynamic SMB share creation and access control.
- Ensure seamless SMB share lifecycle for Windows backup/restore operations.
- Troubleshoot SMB-related problems in complex customer environments.
- Develop and maintain code in Scala, Python, and Thrift.
- Write and maintain technical documentation for SMB subsystem architecture.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and ship new features.
- Stay current with emerging trends in SMB protocol evolution.
Requirements
- BTech/MTech/PhD in Computer Science.
- 3-6 years of software development experience on Linux, with exposure to Windows interoperability.
- Strong expertise in the SMB/CIFS protocol, including hands-on experience with SMB2/SMB3.
- Proficient in Scala or Java, with working knowledge of Python.
- Experience with Thrift or similar RPC frameworks for inter-service communication.
- Familiarity with REST API design and implementation.
- Solid grasp of Linux systems programming.
- Excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
