Responsibilities

  • Operationalize purple-team and attack-simulation exercises across embedded and cloud-connected systems.
  • Develop threat-informed adversary simulation plans and automate adversary tactics, techniques, and procedures.
  • Collaborate with Red and Blue teams and SOC personnel to identify detection gaps and validate detection logic.
  • Identify, document, and review required log sources, formats, completeness, availability, and integrity across assets, ECUs, and infrastructure.
  • Recommend logging, event-visibility, and secure-logging improvements to system and asset owners.
  • Support offensive testing across RTOS, Linux, Android, and MCU-based systems.
  • Assist with control validation, SIEM optimization, threat-modeling automation, and SOC operations.
  • Prepare and present technical reports, findings, weaknesses, remediation priorities, and Purple Team activity summaries.
  • Mentor junior team members and contribute to offensive and defensive testing capabilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Security, Computer Science, or Information Technology and at least 5 years of professional experience.
  • 3–6 years of combined experience in red teaming, SOC operations, detection engineering, or embedded security testing.
  • Strong knowledge of MITRE ATT&CK, threat-simulation tools, and detection principles.
  • Experience with embedded Linux, Android systems, RTOS, or MCU platforms.
  • Familiarity with SIEM systems such as Splunk and ELK and with log analysis.
  • Proficiency in Python scripting and automation.
  • Exposure to network security, packet analysis, and custom protocol fuzzing.
  • Exposure to vehicle communications including CAN, UDS, DoIP, BLE, and MQTT.
  • Strong technical writing and communication skills.
  • Preferred experience includes vehicle cybersecurity or SOC work, embedded threat detection, Burp Suite, Ghidra, Binwalk, custom fuzzers, low-level attack simulation, firmware tampering, memory corruption, secure-boot bypasses, cloud security architecture, telemetry pipelines, and threat-hunting frameworks.
