Responsibilities
- Operate and enhance the custom JavaScript-based web application and maintain its orchestrator and Proxmox API integrations.
- Manage Docker and Docker Compose services, PostgreSQL databases, Redis dependencies, application performance, and logs.
- Design and configure course-specific environments, templates, automation scripts, and remote desktop integrations based on faculty requirements.
- Coordinate student account creation, provisioning, access controls, password resets, enrollment changes, audit logging, and role-based permissions.
- Integrate application workflows with WebAuth, Grouper, Stache, and other university systems.
- Respond to application and system incidents, troubleshoot distributed application and database problems, and provide first-level instructor and student support.
- Maintain documentation, runbooks, system inventories, configuration records, deployment processes, and change logs.
- Support onboarding and knowledge transfer for team members and student workers.
Requirements
- Demonstrated problem-solving ability in complex, distributed application systems.
- Ability to communicate technical requirements between developers and non-technical faculty stakeholders.
- Ability to learn new technologies and frameworks quickly and manage competing priorities.
- Knowledge of security best practices, vulnerability assessment, web-application security, and secure coding practices.
- Technical support, customer communication, documentation, project-management, and task-prioritization skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with instructors and students in an academic environment.
