Responsibilities
- Define end-to-end solution architecture for Payment Post Processing, including target-state and evolutionary delivery plans.
- Create architecture documentation covering options, trade-offs, and recommendations.
- Design cloud-native solutions on Google Cloud Platform and on-premises environments for high-volume payment data and events.
- Partner with engineering teams to ensure designs are practical, secure, resilient, and operable.
- Shape API and event-driven integration patterns across payment systems and downstream consumers.
- Influence architecture direction through collaboration with architects and technology leaders.
- Embed performance, availability, observability, security, and compliance requirements into solution designs.
- Promote reuse, standards, and good practices across teams.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Solution Architect on large-scale, complex technology programs.
- Payments experience is strongly preferred.
- Deep expertise in Google Cloud Platform, including BigQuery, Spanner, Pub/Sub, Dataflow, and related services.
- Strong understanding of modern data platforms and distributed-system design, including streaming-versus-batch trade-offs.
- Knowledge of payment systems and messaging standards such as ISO 20022; SWIFT, SEPA, CAMT, and PAIN/PACS exposure is advantageous.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to tailor messages to different audiences.
- Strong stakeholder-management skills and the ability to influence senior leaders using evidence-based recommendations.
- Ability to work through ambiguity and balance strategic future-state objectives with delivery realities.
