Responsibilities
- Own the reliability, performance, scalability, deployment, and ongoing operations of services and infrastructure in the Insight ecosystem.
- Build AIOps capabilities including ML-driven alerting, anomaly detection, LLM-assisted operational tooling, and automated incident triage.
- Develop dashboards, alerts, runbooks, SLOs, and SLIs to provide deep observability into ecosystem health.
- Automate operational work to reduce toil and improve uptime, release quality, and ecosystem stability.
- Partner on incident response, conduct post-incident reviews, and translate findings into architectural and operational improvements.
- Contribute to infrastructure-as-code practices and platform architecture decisions.
- Collaborate with engineering teams and business partners across Apple’s global manufacturing organization.
- Help establish the culture, practices, and technical standards of the new EMEA operational team.
- Mentor and support team members as the Cork team grows.
Requirements
- Experience in SRE, DevOps, or platform engineering with strong cross-geography collaboration and communication skills.
- Proficiency with Linux systems troubleshooting, including processes, networking, file systems, and performance diagnostics.
- Programming and automation experience with Python, Go, or Bash.
- Practical experience applying AI/ML to IT operations, such as anomaly detection, intelligent alerting, or LLM-driven tooling.
- Hands-on production experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP, including compute, storage, networking, and IAM.
- Preferred experience with Kubernetes, deployment pipelines, networking fundamentals, and distributed-system traffic flows.
- Preferred experience with Grafana, Prometheus, Kibana, and infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform, Pulumi, or Crossplane.
- Practical experience applying SRE principles including error budgets, SLOs, SLIs, and toil measurement and reduction.
- Production experience with relational databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL.
- BS or MS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or an equivalent technical discipline; equivalent professional experience will be fully considered.
