Responsibilities
- Own the overall architecture, architecture decision records, coding standards, and engineering patterns for the digital retail platform.
- Own the canonical experience API, anti-corruption layer, and country-abstraction model for a scalable multi-country platform.
- Lead the design and guide implementation of mobile apps, APIs, backend services, integrations, data flows, and frontend composition patterns.
- Lead adoption of AI software development tools, including technical standards, skills, and specifications.
- Lead technical design reviews and establish quality gates across backend, frontend, data, and QA activities.
- Balance delivery speed, technical debt, security, regulatory requirements, and long-term scalability with Product Owners and the Platform Engineer.
- Coordinate with legacy platform teams, third-party billing, switching and energy-asset connectivity providers, and internal architecture and security teams.
- Mentor engineers and promote AI code generation, automated testing, observability, documentation, and secure coding practices.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Principal Developer or hands-on Solution Architect in a digital product environment with a large customer base.
- Demonstrable experience designing anti-corruption layers or strangler-pattern integrations over existing or legacy platforms.
- Experience with AI software development tools such as Claude Code and Codex, including skills and specifications.
- Strong knowledge of cloud-native architectures, APIs, microservices, event-driven patterns, and integration design.
- Current hands-on backend experience with a stack such as Java/Spring or ASP.NET for web services, APIs, and web applications.
- Understanding of mobile and web frontends such as React Native and Next.js, including API consumption, composition patterns, and BFF boundaries.
- Experience designing a single platform core for multiple countries or markets.
- Experience with CI/CD, automated testing, observability, security-by-design, and production operations.
- Professional written and spoken English is required; Spanish, Italian, or French is a plus.
