Responsibilities
- Design and operate distributed systems, event-driven architectures, and cloud-native backend services.
- Model complex business domains and define clear service boundaries using Domain-Driven Design.
- Build maintainable systems using Clean Architecture, Hexagonal Architecture, and similar principles.
- Design APIs, integrations, and reliable asynchronous workflows using technologies such as Temporal.
- Design authentication and authorization solutions using OAuth 2.0, OIDC, WebAuthn, and fine-grained authorization models.
- Ensure scalability, security, observability, and resilience in production.
- Improve shared libraries, project structure, development tooling, and automated quality assurance practices across services.
- Drive architectural decisions, evaluate trade-offs, mentor engineers, and provide technical leadership across teams.
- Develop responsible AI guardrails, agent harnesses, and engineering-quality tooling.
Requirements
- Strong backend engineering fundamentals and experience designing scalable, reliable services.
- Experience with complex business domains, distributed systems, event-driven architectures, and cloud-native services.
- Ability to make architectural decisions, define service boundaries, and lead technical work across teams.
- Experience with secure authentication and authorization concepts and standards such as OAuth 2.0, OIDC, and WebAuthn.
- Ability to mentor and coach other engineers and communicate decisions clearly.
- Experience with Node.js and TypeScript is relevant, though the company values strong engineering fundamentals over a specific language.
- Commitment to pragmatic, maintainable, high-quality engineering practices.
