Responsibilities
- Architect, ship, and lead major backend platform features end to end, including the IoT core, device-metrics platform, and licensing ledger.
- Lead operational improvements that increase system robustness and reduce pager noise.
- Drive incident learning and improve platform reliability.
- Mentor engineers through design reviews, code reviews, written communication, and direct teaching.
- Listen to engineering teams and help shape the platform roadmap and shared technical direction.
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience building backend services with consistency, latency, and uptime guarantees at scale.
- Fluency in at least one server language, with Python or Go preferred; Ruby or JavaScript with Node.js are also welcome.
- Ability to shape shared technical direction and ship changes that other engineering teams can build on reliably.
- U.S. citizenship or permanent residency required for FedRAMP compliance.
- Availability to work onsite five days per week.
