Base Salary
$243k - $295k/yr
Responsibilities
- Shape backend engineering culture across the Communities team.
- Lead cross-functional initiatives with product, design, frontend engineering, and backend engineering teams.
- Own projects end to end from technical plans and architecture through launch, iteration, and measurable impact.
- Design and build scalable systems for player and creator engagement, including announcements, forums, polls, roles, and permissions.
- Write and review production code while driving code quality, testing, observability, and incident response.
- Define developer-facing APIs and influence technical and product direction across multiple engineering teams.
Requirements
- 8+ years of backend software engineering experience with ownership of large-scale production systems.
- Strong distributed-systems fundamentals and experience architecting and operating high-throughput systems.
- Deep proficiency in at least one server-side language such as C#, Java, or C++, plus comfort with complex codebases.
- Ability to write clear technical specifications, evaluate trade-offs, and influence collective architecture decisions.
- Experience driving system architecture from ambiguous requirements through production with cross-functional coordination.
- Strong engineering fundamentals in code quality, test coverage, observability, logging, metrics, alerting, and incident response.
- Product-oriented, hands-on approach with an interest in AI-assisted development and a safety-first mindset.
