Responsibilities
- Design and lead major Device Platform features end-to-end, including the IoT core, device-metrics platform, and licensing ledger.
- Architect, ship, and communicate backend systems that provide consistency, low latency, and high uptime at scale.
- Lead operational improvements that increase system robustness, reduce pager noise, and improve incident learning.
- Drive design reviews, code reviews, written technical communication, and direct mentorship.
- Listen to engineering teams and help shape shared technical direction and the platform roadmap.
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience building backend services with consistency, latency, and uptime guarantees at scale.
- Fluency in at least one server-side language; Python or Go is preferred, while Ruby or JavaScript with Node.js is also welcome.
- Ability to collaborate with engineering teams, shape shared technical direction, and ship dependable platform changes.
- U.S. citizenship or permanent residency is required for FedRAMP compliance.
- Must be able to work onsite five days per week.
