Responsibilities
- Architect scalable backend systems and latency-sensitive applications for globally deployed intercoms.
- Own backend systems and significant product development end to end.
- Drive technical direction and lead engineers through project execution.
- Design complex systems with simple and robust backend APIs in cross-functional collaboration.
- Resolve problems that span beyond team boundaries while partnering with firmware, mobile, and frontend engineers.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or graduate degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related science.
- 7+ years of industry backend software engineering experience.
- 4+ years of professional backend engineering experience at a rapidly growing startup or innovative company.
- Demonstrated expertise in Python or Go.
- Deep expertise with relational databases; Postgres experience is a plus.
- Experience driving technical direction, leading engineers, and shipping significant products.
- Kubernetes experience is a plus.
