Base Salary
$212k - $265k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of distributed, cloud-native backend services for customer onboarding.
- Design scalable orchestration, data flows, APIs, service layers, and persistence systems.
- Migrate onboarding logic from Salesforce into resilient, observable engineering-owned services.
- Build platform capabilities that reduce customer touchpoints while preserving trust and compliance.
- Contribute to data modeling for Ripple’s future identity platform.
- Partner with Product, Compliance, and Engineering teams to influence company-wide technical direction.
- Champion code quality, testing, and operational excellence.
- Mentor engineers and help grow a lean, high-impact team.
Requirements
- Deep backend engineering experience with modern, cloud-native distributed systems.
- Experience designing and delivering large-scale systems in complex environments.
- Strong API design and integration skills using REST and/or gRPC.
- Experience with cloud platforms, preferably AWS, and container orchestration using Kubernetes or ECS.
- Willingness to work with frontend frameworks such as React or Vue for full-stack capability.
- Ability to navigate and reduce technical debt while delivering business value.
- Leadership skills to set technical direction, mentor engineers, and influence cross-team decisions.
- Preferred experience with Java and Spring Boot.
- Candidates with Go, Kotlin, C#, Python, or Rust backend experience are also considered if they can learn JVM technologies quickly.
- Preferred experience with event-driven architecture using Kafka, SNS, or SQS.
- Fintech, regtech, KYC/KYB, identity verification, or compliance-heavy systems experience is preferred.
