Responsibilities
- Design biometric solutions and translate customer needs into scope, assumptions, risks, data models, use cases, roles, and permissions.
- Write code for data migrations, custom tools, automation, and integration work.
- Debug complex integration issues involving APIs, schemas, environments, third-party platforms, and real customer data.
- Run migrations, quality analyses, deduplication analyses, gap analyses, sizing exercises, proofs of concept, and acceptance documentation.
- Act as the primary technical counterpart and acceptance authority for customers throughout implementation.
- Deliver customer training, technical presentations, and explanations of analyses and solution decisions.
- Lead multiple technical implementations from conception through deployment and provide technical guidance within a solution cluster.
- Feed project learnings into the product roadmap and collaborate with R&D, product, support, solution management, and pre-sales.
Requirements
- Hands-on programming experience in at least one mainstream language such as Java, C#, Python, Go, or a similar language.
- Working SQL skills, ability to read unfamiliar schemas, and comfort analyzing real datasets.
- Ability to turn unclear customer needs into scope, assumptions, risks, and solution decisions.
- Experience designing solutions end to end and documenting the reasoning behind technical decisions.
- Ability to manage scope and changes, communicate options, and set boundaries with customers and colleagues.
- Strong spoken and written English for analyses, diagrams, presentations, and customer communication.
- A university degree in a technical field such as computer science, engineering, mathematics, or similar; a business or economics degree is acceptable with real hands-on engineering experience.
- Willingness to travel on short business trips.
- Preferred experience includes Kotlin, REST API design and integration, message queues, CI/CD pipelines, AWS or another cloud, GitLab, Docker, Kubernetes, Keycloak, biometric platforms or SDKs, criminal case management, document issuance, ICAO interchange formats, and technical workshops or conference presentations.
- Additional world-language fluency such as Spanish, French, Arabic, Mandarin, or Portuguese is a plus.
