Base Salary
$232k - $386k/yr
Responsibilities
- Architect, build, and operate large-scale batch and streaming platforms powering product features, analytics, and experimentation.
- Scale event-driven systems for real-time data ingestion, transformation, aggregation, and delivery across data stores.
- Build self-serve data platforms for data discovery, data contracts, and pipeline operation.
- Drive architectural decisions across storage, compute, deployment, and orchestration with Infrastructure, Platform, Product, and Engineering teams.
- Develop tooling, monitoring, and observability for data platform reliability and performance.
- Mentor engineers on infrastructure and streaming best practices and help define the data infrastructure roadmap.
Requirements
- 8+ years of software engineering experience, including 4+ years focused on data or platform infrastructure.
- Hands-on experience architecting batch systems using Airflow, Dagster, or similar tools and stream processing systems using Spark, Flink, Kafka Streams, or similar tools.
- Familiarity with data quality, lineage, observability, and governance tooling.
- Strong programming skills in Python and SQL; Java, Scala, or Go are a plus.
- Familiarity with cloud infrastructure and data stores including object storage, relational databases, key-value stores, OLAP systems, and search/indexing systems.
- Ability to drive cross-functional infrastructure decisions with strong collaboration and communication skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Experience with Delta Lake, Iceberg, AWS, Databricks, open-source streaming or infrastructure tooling, or ML/AI workflows is a bonus.
