Responsibilities
- Design, document, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and improve commercially successful software products.
- Define architecture, make design decisions, establish engineering standards, and develop a shared platform codebase.
- Build video capabilities involving live streaming, recording, event detection, device connectivity, and video data at scale.
- Design reliable event-driven interactions between cameras and other connected devices.
- Protect customer data, device access, video feeds, and cloud services while building highly available, observable, performant, and recoverable systems.
- Partner with product, UX, firmware, cloud, and security teams to translate concepts into customer experiences.
- Mentor developers through coaching, code reviews, and technical direction.
- Participate in sprint planning, stand-ups, backlog refinement, reviews, retrospectives, and continuous delivery improvement.
- Travel to the US and Asia as needed.
Requirements
- 5+ years of software development experience.
- 3+ years of object-oriented programming experience using C/C++.
- 3+ years of Linux experience, ideally with embedded Linux and Yocto.
- Embedded product development experience.
- Experience with embedded Linux firmware development, connected devices, and security video products is valued.
- Knowledge of image processing, computer vision, and video-based features is valued.
- Experience with Git and GitHub Actions is valued.
- Experience using Jira and Confluence is valued.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, collaboration, mentoring, customer focus, and attention to detail are valued.
- Interest in developer-driven AI workflows and applying AI to engineering productivity and product capabilities is valued.
