Responsibilities
- Design and implement embedded C/C++ firmware for resource-constrained collars running on FreeRTOS.
- Develop LoRa mesh networking, cellular connectivity, BLE communication, and protocols including CoAP, OSCORE, and protobuf.
- Design signal-processing, timing, synchronization, filtering, estimation, and related hardware-near algorithms.
- Own firmware from initial design through implementation, testing, mass deployment, and production support.
- Debug intermittent field issues using logs, telemetry, and system-level analysis.
- Collaborate with hardware engineers on sensor, radio, power, analog, and digital interfaces.
- Improve platform quality, reliability, tooling, and issue-detection practices.
- Support and mentor engineers through design discussions, code reviews, and knowledge sharing.
Requirements
- Experience designing and delivering firmware for resource-constrained embedded devices.
- Strong C/C++ fundamentals and experience with interrupts, memory constraints, real-time behavior, and concurrency.
- A mathematics and/or physics background, or equivalent depth gained through professional experience.
- Experience with wireless or networked communication systems such as LoRa, BLE, cellular, or mesh networking.
- Comfort working close to hardware and following complex technical problems to root cause.
- Strong ownership, collaboration, and feedback skills.
