Responsibilities

  • Build and manage the REST API stack for Maropost web applications.
  • Design, develop, and architect complex scalable web and backend applications.
  • Create concrete architecture designs and prototypes aligned with big data, analytics, and cloud-native product strategies.
  • Drive architecture and design governance, code reviews, and design reviews.
  • Provide technical leadership to the development team and promote industry-standard engineering practices.
  • Evaluate and improve software development tools, frameworks, processes, and technologies.
  • Deploy and operate applications at scale, including DevOps, monitoring, Kubernetes, database, and cloud infrastructure work.
  • Integrate applications with ML and NLP engines and build API endpoints for multimodal clients.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a highly relevant field.
  • At least 3 years of experience building, designing, and architecting backend applications, web applications, and analytics systems.
  • Experience deploying applications at scale in production systems.
  • Experience with high-performance web-scale and real-time response systems.
  • Experience building and managing API endpoints for multimodal clients.
  • Experience with platform security capabilities such as TLS and SSL.
  • Advanced knowledge of high-level design, low-level design, and design patterns.
  • Hands-on experience with Ruby on Rails and PostgreSQL.
  • Understanding of data structures, algorithms, systems architecture, scalable solutions, and performance-driven design.
  • Strong problem-solving, coding, interpersonal communication, and collaboration skills.
