Responsibilities
- Prepare technical design specifications and written knowledge-transfer materials.
- Review requirements, analysis, and design documents and provide feedback.
- Implement, test, maintain, debug, and support software and distributed systems.
- Lead architecture, design, and implementation of robust, scalable web services.
- Improve existing codebases, identify system-quality issues, develop standard procedures, and conduct peer and code reviews.
- Collaborate with colleagues, product stakeholders, and customer support to resolve technical issues and implement designs.
- Investigate new technologies and contribute to architecture reviews and other technical projects.
- Provide technical leadership, mentor less experienced developers, and make independent technical decisions.
- Apply AI-native practices, automation, and engineering toolchains to improve software development and operational outcomes.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in Java full-stack development or Java Enterprise Edition.
- At least 4 years of experience developing systems or software for large business environments.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience; a master’s degree is a plus.
- Strong object-oriented design and service-oriented architecture principles, preferably implemented in Java.
- Strong experience leading architecture, design, and implementation of robust, highly scalable web services.
- Experience with AWS and/or Azure SaaS infrastructure, DevOps technologies, and extensive debugging.
- Understanding of unit, test-driven, functional, and performance testing.
- Experience with React is preferred.
- Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL database systems and data architecture.
- At least 3 years of experience developing mission-critical, low-latency solutions for large business environments.
- At least 2 years of experience developing and debugging distributed systems and working with cloud-based big data systems.
- Experience with event buses such as Pulsar and cloud-based big data solutions such as Snowflake is preferred.
- Experience with software security-enhancing tools and best practices and at least one shell scripting language.
- Understanding of big data, machine learning, LLMs, AI modernization, automation, and engineering toolchains.
- Ability to translate AI innovation into business and productivity impact and operate across business, product, architecture, and implementation levels.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, presentation, facilitation, collaboration, and decision-making skills.
