Responsibilities
- Prepare technical designs and written knowledge-transfer materials from functional requirements and analysis documents.
- Implement, test, maintain, support, and enhance software and existing codebases.
- Lead architecture, design, and implementation of robust, scalable web services and SaaS products.
- Conduct code, architecture, requirements, and design reviews and provide feedback.
- Identify system issues and improvement opportunities, develop standard operating procedures, and recommend technical enhancements.
- Investigate and apply relevant new technologies, including AI-native engineering practices and modernization approaches.
- Collaborate with colleagues, product stakeholders, cross-functional teams, and customer support to resolve technical issues.
- Mentor less experienced developers and lead project work where needed.
- Make independent technical decisions and participate in additional projects or duties as required.
Requirements
- At least 10 years of experience developing systems or software for large business environments.
- At least 5 years of Java Full Stack Development or Java Enterprise Edition experience.
- At least 5 years of experience developing mission-critical, low-latency solutions.
- At least 4 years of experience developing and debugging distributed systems and working with cloud-based big-data systems.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience; a master's degree is a plus.
- Strong object-oriented design and service-oriented architecture principles, preferably implemented in Java.
- Strong experience leading architecture, design, and implementation of robust, highly scalable web services.
- Experience with AWS and/or Azure SaaS infrastructure, DevOps technologies, and extensive debugging.
- Understanding of unit, test-driven, functional, and performance testing.
- Experience with React, Pulsar, and Snowflake is a plus.
- Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL database systems, data architecture, software security practices, and shell scripting.
- Understanding of big data, machine learning, LLMs, automation, and engineering toolchains.
- Ability to work across business strategy, product strategy, technical design, and implementation while driving results across cross-functional teams.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, presentation, facilitation, decision-making, and customer-focus skills.
