Base Salary
$165k - $200k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build standardized application patterns and golden-path deployment tooling for Amazon EKS.
- Promote secure and consistent AI-assisted development and establish AI guardrails, governance, and operational support.
- Lead the long-term developer experience roadmap across multiple software disciplines.
- Engineer resilient traffic paths using timeouts, retries, circuit breaking, failure isolation, chaos testing, automated remediation, and MTTR reduction.
- Implement end-to-end observability, monitoring, alerting, policy visibility, and diagnostics.
- Optimize application performance and infrastructure cost, including latency, cross-AZ transfer, IP consumption, and load-balancer efficiency.
- Manage code and platform lifecycles through versioning, migrations, deprecations, telemetry, and resource pruning.
- Mentor engineers and partner with adjacent teams to embed application abstractions into golden paths.
- Build automated policies and processes for deployment quality, code hygiene, and testing practices.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience building developer tooling and deployment patterns.
- Proficiency in at least one of Go, TypeScript, Python, or C# and disciplined source-control workflows.
- Deep knowledge of designing, developing, and deploying applications to Amazon EKS.
- Deep knowledge of CI/CD build pipelines using GitHub or GitLab.
- Competence with observability and SLOs, including metrics, tracing, structured logs, L4/L7 telemetry, end-to-end request paths, and SLI/SLO definition and enforcement.
- Experience with Terraform or CDK, GitOps, GitHub Actions or GitLab CI, progressive or canary rollouts, and policy-as-code integration.
- Experience with AI-assisted development processes and understanding of the benefits and challenges of using AI to accelerate delivery.
- Ability to evaluate new technologies through proofs of concept, including AI platforms, AI models, and developer experience products.
- Strong application development, secure communication, service identity, resilience, reliability, documentation, testing, and production operations skills.
