Base Salary
$76k - $156k/yr
Responsibilities
- Support development and analysis of flight software requirements, architecture, design, documentation, and interface definitions.
- Identify flight software risks and vulnerabilities and develop mitigation plans with recommended cybersecurity controls.
- Develop and maintain Requirements Traceability Matrices and support software verification, integration, trade studies, and assessments.
- Coordinate milestone reviews, Review Item Dispositions, defect resolution, software boards, and engineering team activities.
- Provide guidance on NASA Spacecraft Software Engineering Team standards and processes for Class A safety-critical software.
- Develop software tools and scripts and interface with NASA and prime contractor engineering teams across flight software domains.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, Computer or Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
- At least five years of related software systems engineering experience with real-time safety-critical software.
- U.S. citizenship or permanent residency and the ability to obtain the required NACI clearance.
- Strong technical, verbal, written communication, coordination, organization, and prioritization skills.
- Preferred qualifications include a relevant master’s degree, cybersecurity assessments, threat modeling, NIST SP 800-53 Rev. 5, Risk Management Framework, NIST SP 800-37 Rev. 2, and security control testing.
- Preferred technical experience includes object-oriented C++, Python, NASA core Flight System, hardware/software integration, flight software verification, configuration management tools, and human-rated aerospace vehicle software.
- Knowledge of vehicle systems and aerospace or comparable vehicle operations is preferred.
