Responsibilities
- Administer, configure, upgrade, and support mainframe development tools and utilities such as ISPW.
- Provide operational support for critical tooling platforms and maintain high availability.
- Participate in on-call rotations and support major infrastructure upgrades and migrations.
- Evaluate and pilot emerging technologies for mainframe modernization.
- Implement ZOWE, VS Code integrations, APIs, and developer productivity platforms.
- Enable adoption of AI-assisted development tools including Cursor, GitHub Copilot, and Glean.
- Design and automate CI/CD solutions using Jenkins, Azure DevOps, and Chef.
- Build integrations between mainframe and distributed or open-systems platforms.
- Develop scripts and programs using Python, JavaScript, and PowerShell.
- Identify opportunities to streamline workflows through AI and automation.
Requirements
- 3–5 years of experience administering, configuring, upgrading, and supporting mainframe development tools and utilities.
- Strong knowledge of JCL, SDSF, ISPF, CA7, TWS/OPC/IZWS, VSAM, COBOL, and ISPW.
- Proven experience designing and automating CI/CD processes.
- Proficiency in Python, JavaScript, and PowerShell scripting or programming.
- Experience supporting infrastructure upgrades, migrations, APIs, DevOps practices, and CI/CD.
- Experience integrating mainframe platforms with distributed or open-systems platforms.
