Responsibilities
- Own and evolve the privacy platform and GDPR Orchestrator, including its core engine, safety mechanisms, audit trail, deploys, on-call operations, and observability.
- Build documentation, templates, libraries, and self-service tooling that help engineering areas manage their own data rules and dependencies.
- Design platform contracts, data models, reusable guardrails, and safe-by-default abstractions for data lifecycle management.
- Coordinate legal, security, data, product, and data-producing teams around requirements, dependencies, and design trade-offs.
- Write, deploy, and operate production code, including rollouts, alerting, incident response, and ongoing platform improvements.
Requirements
- Typically 8+ years of senior-level experience in backend or platform software engineering, or equivalent.
- Experience building and operating platforms, libraries, or services that other engineers depend on, with strong API, contract, data modeling, and production ownership skills.
- Ability to influence and align multiple teams without direct authority and drive cross-area initiatives to completion.
- Hands-on experience writing and operating production software, particularly with Python and TypeScript.
- Strong communication and design skills, including framing documents, dependency mapping, and cross-team technical decision-making.
- Privacy, GDPR, data-governance, or enabling/platform-team experience is strongly preferred.
- Fluent English is required; French is not required.
- Applicants must be legally eligible to work in France, Belgium, or Spain.
