Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-scale backend and full-stack Java applications.
- Modernize legacy and monolithic systems into modular, cloud-ready architectures.
- Build backend services, RESTful APIs, data models, integrations, and high-performance data processing workflows.
- Apply object-oriented design, design patterns, and layered or hexagonal architecture principles.
- Perform performance profiling, memory analysis, JVM tuning, and production stability improvements.
- Ensure code quality through unit testing, mocking, automated testing, and SonarQube static analysis.
- Collaborate with product, QA, DevOps, architecture, UI, and global engineering teams.
- Participate in Agile and Scrum delivery activities, including planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to engineers.
Requirements
- 6–8 years of hands-on experience in Java-based software development on global or enterprise projects.
- MCA or bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent.
- Strong experience with software design patterns, layered architectures, performance optimization, object-oriented design, and clean coding practices.
- Hands-on experience with unit testing and mocking frameworks such as JUnit and Mockito.
- Knowledge of performance profiling, memory analysis, microservices, service communication, integration patterns, Hibernate or JPA, and transaction management.
- Experience with product development environments and the Product Development Lifecycle.
- Familiarity with Azure, Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, Docker, Maven or Gradle, and event-driven or message-based systems.
- Experience with API-based, file-based, and message-based integrations, such as Azure Service Bus, is preferred.
- Domain experience in shipping or logistics workflows, scientific data processing, genomics, or laboratory systems is a plus.
- Understanding of Lean Agile, Scrum, Scaled Agile, Kanban, and Zero-Defect Development practices.
- Strong verbal and written communication, analytical, problem-solving, learning, and continuous improvement skills.
