Responsibilities
- Evaluate and validate Section 508 compliance across ICT deliverables, web applications, and digital learning products.
- Execute manual and automated web accessibility test scripts across browsers and ICT interfaces.
- Use DHS Trusted Tester assessment methods, conformance processes, reporting tools, and formats.
- Document compliance failures and technical non-conformance defects.
- Generate standardized test reports and provide clear remediation guidance.
- Collaborate with project managers, developers, instructional designers, and content creators to integrate accessibility practices.
Requirements
- Active DHS Trusted Tester Version 5.0 or later certification.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
- At least 2 years of experience working with Information and Communications Technology environments.
- At least 1 year of dedicated Section 508 accessibility testing experience.
- Demonstrated experience using the DHS Trusted Tester Version Section 508 Conformance Test Process for Web and official DHS reporting tools and formats.
- Working knowledge of Revised Section 508 Standards and Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG).
- Strong communication and defect documentation skills.
