Responsibilities
- Implement and optimize HPC middleware features for MPI and SHMEM and AI middleware features for collective communication libraries.
- Integrate middleware capabilities with transport and provider layers such as libfabric/OFI, UCX, and applicable verbs-like interfaces.
- Prepare and submit upstream contributions across MPI, SHMEM, collective communication, and related open-source projects.
- Collaborate with kernel, driver, switch, systems, and application teams to deliver end-to-end performance.
- Analyze performance traces, reproduce customer issues, and translate findings into software fixes.
Requirements
- 6+ years of systems programming experience in C/C++ on Linux.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Hands-on experience with HPC middleware internals such as Open MPI, MPICH, MVAPICH, or SHMEM, or with optimizing AI collective communications such as NCCL and RCCL.
- Experience with CUDA, ROCm, or other relevant collective communication stacks.
- Ability to deliver low-latency and high-throughput communication paths and diagnose performance issues using profiling and tracing tools.
- Working knowledge of OFI/libfabric, UCX, and verbs-style transport concepts.
- Strong understanding of RDMA concepts and performance tuning.
- Experience contributing to open-source projects.
- Preferred experience includes libfabric provider development, Ultra Ethernet specifications, RoCEv2, congestion control, Ethernet-based RDMA, cluster-scale benchmarking, profiling and optimization, and HPC fabrics such as Omni-Path.
- A master's degree or doctorate is a plus.
