Responsibilities
- Work with AWS infrastructure and cloud services.
- Design and develop scalable Python backend services and APIs.
- Build efficient solutions for large-scale data processing, transformation, and aggregation.
- Implement caching, queuing, batch processing, asynchronous processing, and optimization as needed.
- Write clean, maintainable code with strong automated test coverage.
- Investigate and resolve complex technical and performance issues.
- Design solutions with performance, scalability, reliability, and maintainability in mind.
- Collaborate with the Solution Architect, AQA, Manual QA, and frontend developers.
- Take ownership of technically challenging backend and data-processing problems.
- Make pragmatic technical decisions that balance simplicity, scalability, maintainability, cost, performance, and development effort.
Requirements
- Strong commercial experience with Python and modern Python frameworks.
- Experience designing and developing robust, scalable backend services and APIs.
- Experience building solutions for large-scale data processing, transformation, and aggregation.
- Strong knowledge of SQL and relational databases, including query optimization and data modeling.
- Experience with REST APIs, service integration, and asynchronous or background processing.
- Strong understanding of software architecture and engineering principles beyond framework-level development.
- Ability to analyze technical problems and choose appropriate solutions.
- Comfort working with complex data models and business logic.
- Strong focus on performance and efficiency when processing large datasets.
- Understanding of trade-offs between simplicity, scalability, and maintainability.
- Strong engineering fundamentals, pragmatic problem-solving, and willingness to take ownership of challenging backend and data-processing work.
