Responsibilities
- Perform requirements analysis, architecture, detailed design, and verification for complex systems containing bare-metal and Linux-based embedded software.
- Contribute throughout the full embedded software design lifecycle for telecommunications, defense, industrial, automotive, robotics, and IoT projects.
- Collaborate with analog hardware, digital hardware, power, FPGA, UI/UX, and software teams to produce high-quality designs.
- Interact with customers and help develop solutions that support their success.
- Review customer or marketing statements of work and product requirements documents.
- Extract design elements from technical standards and specifications and produce detailed design documentation.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or equivalent education/experience.
- 10 years of demonstrated experience designing and validating embedded software.
- Experience with C and C++, embedded Linux in high-performance environments, GNU tools, bootloaders, and Buildroot.
- Experience with Agile tools and methodology, CI/CD pipelines, network technologies, SoC processors, and peripherals such as UART, SPI, I2C, PCIe, and SERDES.
- Knowledge of UML, object-oriented programming, and design patterns.
- Ability to analyze customer requirements, technical specifications, and standards such as PCIe, SerDes, and IEEE 1588.
- Preferred experience with high-performance L2/L3 switches, Java, C#, Qt, HTML, IEEE, 3GPP, SMPTE, CANBUS, Modbus, MQTT, Linux EdgeX Foundry, Redis, Kafka, secure embedded environments, and RTOS platforms including VxWorks and QNX.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, documentation, organization, self-direction, and collaboration skills.
