Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, maintain, and enhance frontend and backend web applications and tools.
- Lead the design and implementation of the JRC MARS Bulletin web platform and integrate it with existing AGRI4CAST tools and dashboards.
- Define scalable system architectures, RESTful APIs, web services, and integration solutions.
- Design intuitive user interfaces and optimize web application interactions across browsers and devices.
- Apply authentication, authorization, validation, monitoring, secure data handling, and other security and data-management practices.
- Manage cloud-based application deployments using containerization technologies and deployment pipelines.
- Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, bug fixing, performance improvements, and reliability enhancements.
- Produce technical and software architecture documentation and contribute to user guides and operational procedures.
- Deliver demonstrations, training sessions, and technical support to project teams.
- Collaborate with scientists, IT specialists, external contractors, and project and ICT working groups.
Requirements
- University degree equivalent to European Qualifications Framework Level 6, typically a bachelor’s degree or three years of higher education.
- At least seven years of professional IT experience.
- At least six years of combined experience with Angular, JavaScript, Vue.js, HTML, CSS, and related libraries.
- Knowledge of architecture best practices and design patterns.
- Experience designing, building, securing, and documenting RESTful APIs and web services using OpenAPI/Swagger.
- Excellent knowledge of integration testing and web security and authentication.
- Very good working experience with Git and GitHub, including GitFlow and trunk-based workflows.
- Experience with Python, domain-driven design, and Agile development.
- Knowledge of AWS or Azure and experience deploying and managing applications in cloud environments.
- Understanding of Docker and Kubernetes for application development and deployment.
- AWS Certified Developer - Associate and Certified Senior Vue.js Developer are listed certifications or standards.
- Strong documentation, problem-solving, communication, teamwork, adaptability, autonomy, accuracy, and English-language skills; English proficiency of B2+ is specified.
